Welcome
James River Community Church is a place where people can meet Jesus, engage in life-giving community, and everyone is welcome. We believe in creating a space where people from all walks of life can have authentic encounters with Jesus, discover their gifts and use them for God's glory.
What To Expect
Our worship service starts at 10am and will last about 60 minutes. Plan to arrive a few minutes early for a bagel and cup of coffee. We have Sunday morning activities for children during the 10am worship service. Plan to hang around after the service for fellowship and chance to meet some of us. Dress is casual, come as you are.
Worship
We have a teaching team made up of three preachers who alternate Sundays throughout the year. The team works collaboratively to plan sermons and often work through various scriptures in a series format. We believe this model lends itself to a broader proclamation of the gospel based on varied personal experiences; and ultimately brings a breadth and depth to the overall worship experience. We sing a good mix of contemporary and traditional worship songs that are led by our worship team. In an effort to keep us centered around Jesus, we celebrate communion every week.

We have community groups that meet on various days and times to further discuss what was shared on Sunday and other studies. This is a great way to meet others and grow in our relationships with Jesus and one another.
